Alabaster Beach

Also known as Receiver’s Beach (from the US military days), this long, curving beach has powdery white sand and extends for more than a mile from the south end of the Governor’s Harbour airport (GHB). As it is on the Caribbean side of the island, the water is usually calm and warm. It is also very shallow for a good distance out. It’s an excellent picnic spot, with many trees for shade, so bring along some snacks and drinks and plan to spend the day. In the previous edition we mentioned that a new resort was being built on this beach. The Cocodimama Charming Resort has since been completed and boasts three colorful buildings with hotel rooms and a restaurant as well. You are also close to Airport Liquor where you can get a cold drink and light snacks.
